The operation of WW2DDM took place at the Lakeside Picnic Shelter in Liberty Lake Park in Bedford, VA. It was jointly sponsored by the Roanoke Valley ARC, Franklin County ARC and Old Dominion Chapter #202 QCWA and included an all-day picnic. The food was great and lots of contacts were made. The SSB operation involved G5RV antennas, an FT-1000 and Ten-Tec OMNI's.
Bob, W8HGH once again this year provided RTTY contacts from his home
station using the WW2DDM callsign.
He had 100 QSO's with stations in 39 different countries including
BQ9P,
PYØFF and
OJØU.
Frank, KE4HOA and his gang provided SSB and FM contacts with WW2DDM
on 50 MHz
and 144 MHz from the Park using his "portable" beam.
They worked 40 stations in 26 Grids on 6 Meters SSB which included
a contact with
WW2SUB a Submarine Museum Ship.
Stan, K4UK and Riley, K4ORD operated CW with a K2 using the Hustler
mobile antenna on Stan's van.
Stan worked TM6JUN a Special Event Station located on Utah Beach
on 15 Meters.
Bill, KC4D also operated CW with his IC-706 and some quite "exotic" portable antennas hung in the nearby trees.

The operation celebrating the First Anniversary of the Dedication of the D-Day Memorial was again enjoyed by all who participated in putting WW2DDM on the air.
